Automatic Card Shufflers: Which One Fits Your Cards and Game
For most card tables, we would pick a USB-C rechargeable 1 to 2 deck shuffler such as the KPAW at $29.99 (4.7 stars from 562 Amazon ratings): no AA batteries to replace, a one-press auto mode, and a listed 65 dB noise level. If you only shuffle now and then, the Spin Master Cardinal Classics shuffler is $10.99 from Amazon and runs on 4 AA batteries. For Samba, which uses three decks, get a 4-deck model. For UNO nights, Mattel makes its own UNO shuffler for $25.00. For a big table that wants cards dealt too, the KPAW MAX 6 shuffler and dealer is $139.99.
Before you buy, check two things on the listing: how many cards it holds and the card size it takes. Most of these machines are made for standard poker and bridge cards. UNO cards are about bridge width, narrower than a poker card, so size is rarely the problem with UNO; capacity is.
The Shufflers Compared
| Shuffler | Decks and power | Price (Oct 24) |
|---|---|---|
| Spin Master Cardinal | 1 to 2, 4 AA | $10.99 |
| FEIERYA 2 Deck | 1 to 2, 4 AA | $16.99 |
| KPAW Dual Modes | 1 to 2, USB-C | $29.99 |
| Towome | 1 to 2, USB-C | $31.99 |
| TOMTAB 4 Deck | 1 to 4, USB-C | $37.99 |
| Mattel UNO Championship | 224 UNO cards, 4 C batteries | $25.00 |
| KPAW MAX 6 Dealer | 1 to 2, rechargeable | $139.99 |
Prices are the Amazon offers we checked on October 24 and change often. Deck counts, power and card sizes are from each Amazon listing; we have not handled these machines, so where a listing is vague we say so.
How to Choose
- Card size. Standard poker cards are 2.5 inches wide and bridge cards about 2.25. UNO cards are close to bridge width. The FEIERYA listing accepts cards under 2.48 inches wide, which fits bridge and UNO cards but is a hair under a poker card's width, even though it names poker among its games. The Towome lists a 3.82-inch side wing. Oversized or giant cards are the ones to check against a listing.
- Decks. Poker, rummy and bridge need 1 to 2 decks. Canasta uses two decks plus four jokers, so check that a 2-deck machine takes 108 cards. Samba uses three decks, and only the TOMTAB on this list takes 4. Mattel's UNO shuffler holds up to 224 UNO cards or 120 standard cards.
- Power. Battery models are cheaper up front: the Spin Master and FEIERYA each take 4 AA batteries and the Mattel UNO shuffler 4 C batteries, none included. Rechargeable models charge over USB-C.
- Dealing. Only the KPAW MAX 6 deals as well as shuffles, for up to 12 players. It costs $110 more than the KPAW 1 to 2 deck shuffler.
The Shufflers in Detail
1. KPAW Automatic Card Shuffler, Best for Most Tables

A 1 to 2 deck shuffler with a 1200 mAh battery charged over USB-C, a one-press auto mode and a hold-to-shuffle mode. KPAW lists 65 dB and about 3 seconds per shuffle, and a size of 6.6 by 4.7 by 3.1 inches. It has the highest rating on this page, 4.7 from 562 reviews. The listing names Texas Hold'em, Bridge and Blackjack but does not name UNO.
2. Towome Automatic Card Shuffler, the Bigger Battery

Also 1 to 2 decks and USB-C, with a 2000 mAh battery and auto and manual buttons. Its 2000 mAh battery is larger than the KPAW's 1200 mAh, and its listing names UNO, Skip-Bo, Phase 10 and Five Crowns among the games it works with. 4.6 from 1,692 reviews, $31.99.
3. Spin Master Cardinal Classics Shuffler, Best Budget

Amazon sells it itself at $10.99, $21 less than the Towome. It shuffles 1 or 2 decks and needs 4 AA batteries. The listing gives no card sizes, so treat it as a standard-deck machine. 4.2 from 202 reviews.
4. TOMTAB 4 Deck Shuffler, Best for Samba and Big Decks

Takes 1 to 4 decks, charges over USB-C, and comes with two gold-colored decks and a 2-year warranty, per the listing. It names UNO and bridge decks as well as standard cards. It is newer, with 162 reviews at 4.4. $37.99.
5. Mattel UNO Championship Series Shuffler, for UNO Nights

Made by UNO's publisher for UNO cards: up to 224 UNO cards or 120 standard playing cards, push-button operation, for ages 7 and up. It takes 4 C batteries, not included. Amazon sells it at $25.00. It is new, with 58 ratings averaging 4.6.
6. KPAW MAX 6 Shuffler and Dealer, for Big Groups

Shuffles 1 to 2 decks and then deals them, for up to 12 players, with settings for card count and direction and 4 remotes for drawing cards in games like Rummy and Phase 10. KPAW lists about 150 decks per charge. 4.4 from 583 reviews, $139.99.
Also on Amazon: the FEIERYA 2 Deck shuffler at $16.99 has the most ratings in our search (4.1 from 8,607, a count shared with its other versions), runs on 4 AA batteries, and its listing suggests reseating a gear with a screwdriver if it jams. Its 2.48-inch card width limit fits bridge and UNO cards. See the FEIERYA on Amazon.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do automatic card shufflers work with UNO cards?
Usually. UNO cards are about bridge width, narrower than poker cards, so most 2-deck shufflers take them; what limits you is how many cards fit. Mattel's UNO Championship Series shuffler is built for UNO and holds up to 224 UNO cards.
Will a shuffler work with sleeved cards?
None of these listings says it takes sleeved cards, so assume it does not.
How many batteries does a card shuffler need?
The Spin Master and FEIERYA take 4 AA batteries and the Mattel UNO shuffler 4 C batteries, none included. The rechargeable models charge over USB-C.
Can a card shuffler deal cards too?
Only shuffler and dealer machines such as the KPAW MAX 6 deal. A plain shuffler drops the shuffled deck into a tray.
